FIRST DAY JITTERS

The summer fun has now transitioned into starting SECOND GRADE!

I knowww, I don’t want to say it. Don’t make me say it, but HOW ARE WE HERE ALREADY?! It’s honestly scary how fast school ages kids! She was very excited to go back to school, even though we had a really fun summer!

Not being from the hometown of her school, I really don’t know any of the teachers she gets assigned to every year, so I have no opinion going in! But, it is one BIG texting frenzy amongst the moms as to who your child got to try to piece together who is in which class on the day they drop the class lists!

Waylin excitedly said she knew exactly what she was going to wear for her first day! It’s funny how in Kindergarten, it was me planning on her “first day” outfit, but now she takes full control and knows exactly what she wants to wear. This year, she wanted to be a “country girl babe” she said. And that she was!

I missed her greatly, but I do love the structure of the academic year. It feels like a secondary “New Years Day” in a way. It’s back in a routine for everyone!

Waylin is a “cold lunch girlie” through and through. There hasn’t been ONE TIME that she has wanted hot lunch from school. And, I’m okay with that because I really enjoy making her lunches!

Overall, she had a great first day and was excited for the rest of the year!
