JUST RIGHT FOR DREAMS
Too cold for adventures, but just right for dreams
I haven’t dragged my camera out in a very, very long time. I don’t really have a reason other than i think I have been investing into going to events + experiences for Waylin and trying to be more present. When i look back on the last couple of months, I have been utilizing local events + libraries more often to give her something new to do!
It can be really hard to be active in the winter months because it’s just so dang cold outside! But, I also have this realization that this is her childhood…I want her to remember doing fun things, finding new interests and perspectives, etc. We went star gazing with a group of astrologists, cookie decorating, painting, etc. There are so many opportunities to learn in the community and I have enjoyed prioritizing these for her. I hope to share some blog posts on those experiences soon!
I did take the time to take a few shots for a challenge with a group of photographers that I have connected with online. Our group has people all over the world and we like to challenge ourselves with a topic or item/noun. It’s really fun to see how we all interpret a certain theme or item. In the month of January, the theme was “winter headband".”
Waylin LOVES pipe cleaner crafts! I think they have grown in popularity because THEY ARE EXPENSIVE! But I love seeing all of the things she enjoys creating. She made the headband herself! I was so impressed with her ability to make little connected bows and she picked out blues and silvers for the “winter” theme.
I honestly just showed up with my camera! We shot this in Ben’s bedroom at the foot of his bed! I love the way the blinds filtered in the light. It made for such a comfy, cozy morning view as she snuggled her dad’s old stuffed puppy. We also used her birthday bear she got last year!
